Here's an easy one
1 1/2 cups fresh blueberries
1/2 cup sliced strawberries
1/4 cup butter or marg
1 cup sugar plus 2 tbsps
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup milk
a sprinkle of cinnamon
While the oven preheats to 400F put the butter in medium-sized iron skillet or baking dish and put it in the oven to melt.
Whisk together 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk.
Remove skillet from oven and swirl around butter to coat evenly. Pour in batter. Mix the berries with 2 tbsps of sugar and sprinkle over batter along with cinnamon to taste.
Bake for 35-40 minutes.
Serve plain, or even better, topped with ice cream
Mom's are always running, am I right? And when you hit menopause, you're running hot and cold! So welcome to Hot and Cold Running Mom...where you'll find mostly easy recipes (because who has time for complicated ones!), helpful household hints and a few crafts. Note: NOT just for Menopausal Moms!
I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!
