Originally done with a whole chicken, I thought I'd give it a try using legs. And these were pretty well still frozen when I started. If you are using thawed chicken, reduce the cooking time.
4 chicken legs, frozen
2 tbsps olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Milk, enough to come a quarter way up the chicken
2 cinnamon sticks
1 bay leaf
1/2 tsp ground sage
1 tsp lemon pepper
8-10 (a handful) unpeeled garlic
Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet. Salt and pepper the chicken then gently brown in the oil. Add the remaining ingredients, even the unpeeled garlic,
and bake in a 350 F oven for 1 1/2 - 2 hours, basting occasionally. Remove the cinnamon sticks, bay leaf and garlic peels.
Not pretty, but seriously tasty!
Mom's are always running, am I right? And when you hit menopause, you're running hot and cold! So welcome to Hot and Cold Running Mom...where you'll find mostly easy recipes (because who has time for complicated ones!), helpful household hints and a few crafts. Note: NOT just for Menopausal Moms!
I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!
