When you feel like having cabbage rolls but do not have the time to fiddle with rolling them up.
2 lbs ground beef
1 1/2 cups chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 tbsps paprika
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 cup brown rice
5 cups roughly chopped cabbage
1 cup tomato sauce (more if you want it saucier)
1 cup water
1 - 28 oz can diced tomatoes
In a very large skillet brown beef and onion, then add garlic, paprika, salt and pepper.
Add the remaining ingredients, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer until rice is cooked, about 20 - 25 minutes.
Mom's are always running, am I right? And when you hit menopause, you're running hot and cold! So welcome to Hot and Cold Running Mom...where you'll find mostly easy recipes (because who has time for complicated ones!), helpful household hints and a few crafts. Note: NOT just for Menopausal Moms!
I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!
