An easy and nutritious way to fuel your day.
1/3 cup quinoa
2/3 cup water
1 tbsp chia seeds
Your choice of fruit, nuts and yogurt
Drizzle of honey
Measure out 1/3 cup of quinoa and rinse it well. If you don't have a fine mesh strainer, no problem. Just put a coffee filter in your strainer and rinse away!
Put the rinsed quinoa, chia seeds and 2/3 cup water in a saucepan, bring to a boil, then simmer for 7-10 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand to room temperature.
(If you find it a little thick, just stir in a little milk)
Spoon quinoa into a bowl and fill with all your favourites. Someone here doesn't like pineapple.
Just a little drizzle of honey and have a good day!
Mom's are always running, am I right? And when you hit menopause, you're running hot and cold! So welcome to Hot and Cold Running Mom...where you'll find mostly easy recipes (because who has time for complicated ones!), helpful household hints and a few crafts. Note: NOT just for Menopausal Moms!
I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!
