Whip this stuff up for a zingy, spicy sauce you can put on just about anything you want to slather it on!
You'll need:
1 small orange and zest, about 1/2 cup chopped
1 apple chopped, 1 cup
2 tbsps tomato paste
1/2 cup brewed coffee
1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
1 tbsp molasses
1/2 tsp liquid hickory smoke flavour (optional)
2 tbsps worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tsp minced ginger
1/2 tsp salt
2 tsps sugar
1/2 tsp dried chili flakes
as many grinds of black pepper as you like
Toss the chopped orange and apple in a food processor and pulse until it looks like this
then put everything in a pot and bring it to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, 10-15 minutes until sauce begins to thicken.
If you want your sauce smoother, whirl it with an immersion blender.
Mom's are always running, am I right? And when you hit menopause, you're running hot and cold! So welcome to Hot and Cold Running Mom...where you'll find mostly easy recipes (because who has time for complicated ones!), helpful household hints and a few crafts. Note: NOT just for Menopausal Moms!
I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!
