I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Grilled Shrimp with Sweet Peppers and Onion

Shrimp on the BBQ ... a super simple and speedy summertime supper!
Ingredients:
2/3 lb raw shrimp
1 small red pepper
1 small onion
3 tbsps olive oil
1 tbsp honey
2 tsps tamarind sauce
1 tsp lemon pepper
1 tsp minced garlic

First off, soak wooden skewers in water for about 30 minutes to prevent them from burning on the barbecue. Then begin threading red pepper, onion and shrimps onto each one.
Combine the rest of the ingredients and pour over the skewers. Marinate in the fridge for 1 hour.
Grill on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes per side or until the shrimp turn pink.
Serves 4 with rice and salad
