Fancy dessert Friday ..... just making Friday a little special!
Ingredients:
2 firm Bartlett pears
4 tsps butter
pinch of salt
2 pinches of dried thyme
fresh mint sprigs
1/4 cup honey
Peel two firm pears. I had Bartletts that didn't seem like they were ever going to ripen. Bosc would be a good choice as well. Remove the cores and place the halves in a baking dish, core side up. Fill each with 1 tsp of butter.
Sprinkle with a little salt and thyme and add a couple sprigs of mint.Drizzle honey over the pears and bake at 425°F for 1 hour.
Turn over half way through baking and spoon some of the juices over top.
Then flip back for the last few minutes to caramelize.
