I started this blog so my daughters could find all of our family favourite recipes in one place. It has actually grown into more than just the family favourites but also other recipes we've tried out in our kitchen. I don't like to fill up the post with alot of chatter. Sometimes there's a little story to tell, but usually I like to get right to the point. So this is for them, but hope you find some recipes that you like as well. I'll be sharing a lot of recipes, and along the way you'll find some crafty things and maybe some helpful hints too! Welcome!

Shrimp Kebabs

Pan fried shrimp kebabs (or kabobs) are tempting as an appetizer or main course or as part of a seafood plate.

They can also be grilled on the BBQ on medium high temperature for 2-3 minutes per side. I would def add pineapple chunks to the skewers if barbecuing!

Ingredients:
1 lb - 31/40 peeled, deveined shrimp
1 red bell pepper cut in 1/2" pieces
1 yellow bell pepper cut in 1/2" pieces
1 red onion cut in 1/2" pieces

Marinade:
4 tbsps olive oil
1 tbsp honey
1 1/2 tbsps soya sauce
1 tsp lemon zest
2 tsps chopped celery leaves
1 tsp dry thyme
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp minced garlic

Prepare the shrimp (tail on or off) and cut the vegetables. Whisk the marinade ingredients together in a large bowl and add the shrimp and veggies. Toss to coat, cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Then feed the shrimp, onions and peppers onto skewers. I used 6" ones because they fit in my skillet nicely. Brush the remaining marinade over top and cook on medium high heat for 2-3 minutes per side or until the shrimp are pink and the vegetables are tender.

They were lovely on our New Year's Day plate!
